主讲人简介




Peter H. Egger教授，国际著名经济学家，现任苏黎世联邦理工学院（ETH, Zürich）经济学教授，自2013年起担任国际著名经济学期刊Review of International Economics的主编，是美国经济学学会、欧洲经济学学会、计量经济学学会、英国皇家经济学学会等知名经济学学会的成员。
Peter H. Egger教授研究领域主要集中在面板和空间计量经济学的理论和应用、国际经济学和区域经济学的理论和应用、产业组织和跨国公司等方面，学术成果丰硕。目前已在包括American Economic Review、Journal of Econometrics、Economic Journal、Journal of International Economics等在内的国际顶级期刊上发表论文200余篇。



内容简介

In this lecture we will discuss three papers: Heterogeneous Effects of Tariff and Non-tariff Trade-Policy Barriers in Quantitative General Equilibrium (Egger and Erhardt, 2019), The Trade Effects of Endogenous Preferential Trade Agreements (Egger, Larch, Staub, and Winkelmann, 2011), Comparing Apples to Apples: Estimating Consistent Partial Effects of Preferential Economic Integration Agreements (Egger and Tarlea, 2021). The first paper looks on how to treat the endogeneity of tariff and nontariff barriers in a theory consistent way. The second paper focuses on endogenous trade agreements and their  effects in heterogeneous firm models. The third paper proposes a weighting approach to tackle the endogeneity of trade agreements.
